Sometimes when I work too much strange things start to invade my dreams. This time it was JavaScript popups as I was doing a lot of work with AJAX. The dream was so vivid and memorable that I turned in into a short story.

I've finally gotten used to Christmas coming early and Santa showing up at the malls before Thanksgiving, but having it all set up before Halloween is just absurd! Happy Hallothanksmas indeed!

Here's the same shot again. This time we're back to temperatures reaching 102 F and above with no rain in the immediate forecast.

Finally! Rain! After weeks of no rain and temperatures hovering right around 100 degrees, the Dallas are gets some much needed rain. Of course, the storms still skirted the main lake where the northern counties draw their water from, so it didn't help much with the drought conditions. But what are you going to do, except water your lawn less and less each week? Still, it was a nice sight, and a welcome reprise to the heat.
